It was a sunny day. A large crowd gathered to watch the famous tightrope walker cross Niagara Falls.
Carefully he started across, one dangerous step, and the another, until he reached the other side.

Next he offered to carry someone from the crowd across the turbulent falls on his shoulders.
One man thought he could do it safely.
But he wasn't willing to risk his own life.

Another man really believed the tightrope walker could do it and climbed onto his shoulders.
The crowd watched as he carried the man over the dangerous falls safely to the other side.

This little story illustrates something important. Someday each one of us will die. Then we will either go to Heaven or to Hell. God wants us to be in Heaven with Him. But we can't get to there ourselves. We need someone to carry us to God.

The Bible has good news! It says that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross for us. He took the punishment for our sins (the bad things that we have done). When Jesus died, He did not stay dead. Three days later, He rose again and later He went back to Heaven. And because Jesus has already gone safely to Heaven, He can take us to Heaven too.

But first you must trust Him with your life, just like the man in the story. If you truly want God to forgive your sins, you can pray something like this: "God, I know that I have sinned. But I believe that your Son died for me. I know that I can never be good enough to get to Heaven. So I'm asking Jesus to be my Savior, and to bring me safely there."
