Distinctives of Sanford Bible Church

Dis·tinc·tive

A characteristic of one person or thing, and so serving to distinguish it from others.

While these characteristics are not unique to Sanford Bible Church, they do help to distinguish our fellowship from others in the area.

We believe in the word-by-word inspiration and the inerrancy of the Bible in the original manuscripts.

We hold to the consistent literal, historical-grammatical interpretation of the Bible.

  • Israel and the Church.

We believe Israel and the Church to be different programs in the plan of God. Although God is currently working through the Church in this current age, the Church has not replaced Israel in the overall plan of God.

  • The blessed hope of the Church.

We believe in the blessed hope of the church also known as the rapture.

We believe that Jesus will literally reign on earth for 1000 years from David's throne in Jerusalem.

We are not charismatic. We do not practice what are commonly known as the “sign gifts”.

Sanford Bible Church is an elder-led congregation. We do not have a single top authority, usually called “the Pastor.” We are led and governed by a plurality of Elders. Since we do not have a single paid pastor, we share the teaching responsibilities of the Church. By not having a paid pastor, we are able to contribute more to missions.

  • Missions-Minded.

We have a rich tradition of faithfully supporting missionary work around the world.
